Part 2: SEO for Small Business
Episode 134 answers a very basic question: What is SEO?
As we know from doing content marketing, teaching is how we form a connection with a future customer. It’s a way to serve them until they trust us – the new rules of doing business. SEO is simply the beginning of that journey.
SEO is a signal that someone wants to learn – with a data “signature” that offers clues about what they want to know. From there, it’s up to us to use that data to put ourselves in the best position to answer that question.
So, how can we set ourselves up to set up this learning “pathway” and unlock this dynamic? Let’s take a deeper dive. Listen to the complete episode here or subscribe in Apple Podcasts.
As I mentioned in the episode itself, I am developing an online course devoted to SEO. It’s a part of my Core Concepts of Content Strategy series, and it’s based on the work that I do with clients each week.
This course is structured for the layperson, and it includes:
- Video walk-throughs, templates, and checklists.
- Key highlights of Google’s 200 ranking factors.
- How to use Google Analytics.
Here’s the link for more info: https://controlmousemedia.com/seo-basics. You can sign up to be notified when the course is launched.
With this podcast, I try to keep you up-to-date on new things that might affect your overall marketing strategy. I publish most Mondays – subscribe here (and select podcast / every new post) if you’d like to be notified when new episodes are available.
