How to Syndicate Content Safely on Medium

Content Strategy, Content Marketing, Inbound Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Marketing, Business, Strategy

It’s now OK to syndicate content from your blog to Medium. The folks at Medium have made this process very easy, with no cut-and-paste, no excerpting, and no editing needed.

Most importantly, it’s completely safe – with no SEO penalty. The syndicated Medium post is not treated as duplicate content, because it’s automatically coded properly.

This is a strategy that is simple to implement, and may help extend your reach. In this episode, I walk you through how to do it.

Show Notes

Here are links to the articles I mentioned in the episode:

Last week’s episode was about syndicating content on your blog in general: Content Syndication: Safe SEO Practices for Your Blog. Refer to the show notes if you want more info about using the “rel=canonical” tag properly.

Here’s the episode on using Medium for Business, which was recorded before this new feature of Medium was introduced. LinkedIn Pulse is more popular for business blogging, though it’s a much inferior publishing platform.

I also mentioned that platform that I use to host this podcast – and my business site in general. It’s called the Rainmaker platform, and I highly recommend it. Here’s my affiliate link if you’d like to get a free trial.

I’m going to be talking more about repurposing content. It’s a strategy I favor because it makes you much more efficient. Here’s my episode on why that’s that case: Content Strategy Makes You More Efficient.

Lastly, here’s where you can find me on Medium: http://medium.com/@mboezi. You’ll see that I use it for a mix of business-related things and general interest.
