Build, Connect, Optimize: The Three Stages of Good Marketing

Marketing Without the Marketing offers respectful, soft-touch marketing strategies that are more in line with today’s consumers. This podcast is for small business owners of all types, including writers, musicians, and other creatives.

In working with a variety of small businesses over the past 5 years, a clear pattern emerges: There are three distinct stages of a growing business. A good marketing plan takes this into account, with three matched activities:

  1. Build: Get a foundation and funnel up and running.
  2. Connect: Do your outreach to fill the funnel.
  3. Optimize: Measure and tweak into efficiency.
